Overview

It’s always exciting to help a new business get off the ground. That’s exactly what we did with Memory Lane Salon. As anyone in business knows, the planning and work that goes into launching a business is more than a full time job. Memory Lane Salon owner and founder, Misty Dawn, knows first hand the incredible amount of time and work it took to get her new salon opened.

Goals

She wanted to let her prospective clients know that her salon was coming and get people excited about the grand opening. It was important for Misty to have a website to inform people and act as a lead generation tool for new customers.

Website Redesign

Stylish & Fully Responsive

⎯⎯

The goal was to create a stylish and fully responsive website with an aim of showcasing services and driving appointments. The thought of facing a website re-design amidst an ambitious expansion project was anything but relaxing. With the addition of a new line of services, the client knew they needed to step up their online presence and overall branding to a level more inline a progressively growing business. In result, we crafted a completely custom website design that adhered to a very specific look that went beautifully with client’s aesthetic. One year the design was completed, Memory Lane flourished into success.

  On-Line Bookings

──

Salon clients can make bookings online which are confirmed back to the client by either an email or mobile txt. The online booking form allows the client to choose their stylist, colorist, service and preferred day and time. Salon hours, drop down calendar and thumbnail links to staff profiles are all handy and within reach to help the client make their choice.

The ability for clients to both read and post testimonials was a very important feature for Misty. The home page has a scrolling feed of client testimonials plus there's a full page version for uploading and showcasing.

“Memory Lane represents what all high-quality websites should aim for, it's all about simplicity and elegance rather than self-indulgent design. The most important aspects are showcasing the best of the business and putting the client’s needs first.

Responive Layout

The overall look and feel of the site were updated and the site structure was also upgraded to a Responsive Web Design (RWD) format. No matter what type of device that a viewer is using (smartphone, tablet or laptop) to view the site, the size of the site will automatically resize itself into the best optimized version for that device’s screen size (a very important feature as a growing portion of potential audience are currently viewing websites on either a tablet or smartphone).

Mobile friendly design that doesn't exclude certain screens.

Mobile Optimized

The need for a mobile optimized design cannot be emphasized enough these days. How your website appears on different devices and the user experience it delivers, whether your customers are looking for you on a mobile, tablet or desktop, is becoming increasingly important. It is not simply a matter of a website working on a mobile, it must also adapt its format seamlessly so that it delivers an optimal user experience regardless of device.

Content

Luring customers in with captivating content.

⎯⎯

When designing the new Memory Lane website the two most important features to keep in mind were that the site must be responsive and in modern websites images are everything. Content is always important in any website and must not be overlooked.

Content detailing Memory Lane’s services to customers is emphasized by glamorous graphics and photography. A special, unique touch to the images can be noticed on the homepage with the use of changing box images to porthole images where service options for the salon are highlighted.

Imagery

Memory Lane is a dynamic website that has a big impact thanks to its use of large, high quality images showcasing the best features of the business while balancing simplicity for the user and seamless transition to different displays for multiple devices. A hairdressing salon is a business that is centered on beauty and style, so fabulous imagery is even more important. Every aspect of the website must showcase beauty and the cutting edge modern style of the staff, their abilities, their products and the salon itself. Large, professional photos were a must for this website on almost every page, whether it was showcasing the team, the salon or the hairdressing options. These excellent images are balanced with the best content.

Alluring visuals and smart digital content work to command attention.
